Special Needs @ Jiemin Primary School

Definition

A child is said to have a learning disability when he or she have problems that affect the brain’s ability to either receive, store, analyze or process information.

These problems hinder the process of learning as quickly than in comparison to a child who isn’t affected by a learning disability.

There are many types of learning disabilities. Some students affected by learning disabilities are usually actually having more than one kind, which is also known as co-morbidity.

Certain types of learning disabilities can interfere with a person's ability to focus and can cause someone to seem hyper most of the time.

Other learning disabilities can make it difficult for a student to read, write, spell, or understand mathematical concepts.
